The 2014 Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership Foundation Fellowship and Translational Project Awards in Skin Disease

New York, NY – The mission of the Milstein Medical Asian American Partnership Foundation (MMAAP Foundation) is to improve world health by developing mutually beneficial partnerships between the United States and China, as well as greater Asia. Working with some of the premier health organizations in the world, the MMAAP Foundation will bring together and fund exchanges among the best research, medical talent, and institutions in the regions. In connection with the commitment to support outstanding medical research related to skin diseases and promotion of skin health, the MMAAP Foundation invites the submission of applications from mainland China for

  1. the MMAAP Foundation Fellowship Award in Skin Disease to support one year of training at a prominent sponsor institution in the US for one Chinese scholar in dermatology and
  2. the MMAAP Foundation Research Project Award in Skin Disease to support one such project with potential for immediate impact on improving skin health in China.

The aim of this program is to build enduring partnership between the US and Asia through training of future Chinese academic leaders and to encourage long term collaborations between the two regions. The fellowship award will provide support for the fellow in the amount of $60,000 accompanied by a grant of $25,000 to the hosting US institution. The translational project award will provide support for the project to be conducted at applicant’s home institution in China in the amount of $50,000 and support for the US partner institution in the amount of $10,000.
